About Us

The California Irrigation Institute is a nonprofit corporation founded in 1962 for the purpose of educating those within and outside of the irrigation industry about all facets of irrigation in California. The main activity of CII is its annual conference held each January covering various aspects of irrigation and drainage.

CII is governed by a Board of Directors, chosen to represent a cross section of irrigation activity and interest. Directors are selected from the following categories: surface or subsurface irrigation; sprinkler or trickle irrigation; education; governmental agencies; irrigation, drainage or reclamation districts; pumps and engines; electric or gas utilities; agricultural consultants; farmers; agricultural lenders; environmental interests.

Members of the Institute are California residents who participate in CII activities. They conduct professional or commercial activity that relate to the irrigation industry.

 

CII Objectives

1) The advancement and distribution of irrigation knowledge and practice.

2) The increased appreciation by the California public of the importance of irrigation to California's economy.

3) The increased cooperation among those interested in irrigation.

4) The furtherance of professional and social contact between the institute members.
